Digging A Hole

Why..... why, why, why? When going through this life do we come to chances and choices and often choose the more complicated of the two? We end up Digging a hole. Shovel after shovel full of dirt, we get deeper and deeper. Oddly we don't know if its a good decision to begin with but yet something just keeps us throwing that shovel deeper and deeper into the earth. The whole time wondering where we are going. Going deeper and deeper having a choice to stop any time and walk back out. But in the chaos of the everyday monotony and still getting deeper until you don't know which way is up or down, there is the slight beauty within. This hole seems to come alive and becomes a part of you. Its comfortable and soon you wouldn't know what life would be without it. This Blog is just like that. Why? Why, create one more thing to maintain? Well this Blog is to share with all of you the digging, shoveling, monotony, beauty, life and extreme joy that exists within the walls of this little hole called our Fox Den. Welcome to the Hole!

What's Going On?

So long time no update. Sorry, but here we go. In August of 2009 I lost my job at Ahern Rentals, due to the location closing that I was working at in Hurricane. I have been unable to find work in the area since. One blessing that has come from this is that Melissa has been able to switch from night Hair School at Taylor Andrews to day school. She will finish in about 3 months instead of 8-9. We are all very exited. Rylee is in 1st grade and reading very well. Kaden is in Kindergarten and really picking up his reading skills also. It is starting to get harder to spell out things and the kids not pick up on what we are trying to keep from them. Gracie is growing so fast. She wont say a word. Although I did just today get her to say Dada. :) Oh sweet joy! She is getting pretty good at using a spoon now. That sure makes a big difference. I am hoping to start back to school within the next year. Through all our trials and struggles we are growing and learning, sometimes the hard way but always getting stronger. Soon I will redo our Photos but here is a video for now.

White Christmas

Against all odds, we had a White and Merry Christmas. Despite the economic trends and ups and downs at work, the spirit of Christmas was felt as strong as ever in Hurricane. We thank our friends and family for the love, care and wishes shared this year. We thank our Savior Jesus Christ for the miracle of His sacred birth. This is the most wonderful time of the year. Melissa had 2 weeks off from Taylor Andrews Hair Academy, and I had quite a bit of time off from work for the holidays. With Rylee being out for school break we all got to spend some much needed time together at home. We are extremely blessed! I am serious about the White Christmas, it was really snowing on Christmas morning. Now it may have only been an inch and gone by noon, but ya know that does not change the way it made the world look on that sacred morning. Right after the New Year we took a little trip up to Cedar City to play in the snow. This was deeper than an inch. We went until we couldn't hike the hill any more or our bones were too bruised to take another fall. The video is a little clip of Rylee and her friend Helen Bushnel sledding down together. We didn't notice they had ventured to go off the jump. Luckily they didn't have enough speed to do any real damage. Rylee ended up like "tow-mater" no need to see where your going as long as you see where you came from. Happy New Year to all of you!

Birthdays

August and September are going to be busy times in our Fox Den forever. We start out with Kaden's Birthday on August 6th then we go on to the newest edition Little Gracy Rue's Birthday on September 11th. Then on to Rylee's Birthday on the 25th of September. Its a great way to start into the Holidays, from there we go right into Halloween and then on to Thanksgiving and on through Christmas and the New Year. It's busy but full of memories and fun. Kaden had a Monster Truck Birthday this year, we built them from the ground up. We held races and watched some real monster truck footage from one of Kadens favorite Monster Jam Movies. Hope you enjoy the video clip. Rylee had a "Hello Kitty" birthday party. They made and decorated hello kitty masks and played pin the bow on hello kitty. The girls had a blast. And as for Gracin Ruelene, we were celebrating getting to look into her eyes for the first time. Of coarse perfect just the way it is, no cake necessary. Happy Birthday to all our friends and family that could not be here and that we missed on your's.
